What else can we learn about USA eczema sufferers’ experience from our eczema survey?

We asked, where on your body do your eczema flares occur? As you can see, eczema occurs just about everywhere. Flares occur on the arms over 50% of the time and legs over 40% of the time. The hands get flares over 30% of the time, whereas the torso, elbows and face experience flares over 20% of the time. Remember, most eczema sufferers get more than 1 flare which is why there are so many different location with very high percentages.

Respondents also told us about how long it takes after a flare has healed for a new eczema flare to arise. For 17%, a flare doesn’t return for over 2 months. However, 33% see the eczema flare return in 2 months and 38% of sufferers see a flare returning within 2 – 4 weeks. And unfortunately, 12% have a flare return in 1 week. Note this does not mean the flare returns to the same body location.
These charts show how varied the experience for eczema sufferers is.
